This book is about a hobbit who leads an ordinary life that is met with an extraordinary challenge. He finds a ring which leads him to be pulled into the depths of Mordor. This action packed book will be tense till the moment you finish. The hobbit goes on a walk and finds out the ring is evil. He meets a ranger called strider. Not trusting Strider that much, he gets a letter from the person in charge of Prancing Pony, very forgetful creature. Gandalf gave him the letter a long time ago and he forgot to give it to the hobbit. This hobbit, Frodo, and his companion, Sam, find that they are in over their head and that you can't run away from the ringwraiths. On this journey Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin encounter an elf, Legolas, a dwarf, Gimli, a wizard, Gandalf, two Men, Aragorn and Boromir, plenty orcs, an ancient evil creature, Balrog, and amazingly enough they only lose Gandalf and Boromir in the first book. In the council Frodo feels the strenght in him to complete this journey but will he be able to, read the book to find out.
